The Benefits of Aromatherapy in Hot Tubs
What is aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being. It is a useful adjunct to the hydrotherapy benefits of a hot tub, by helping relaxation, reducing stress and promoting wellbeing. Sometimes it’s called essential oil therapy.
Aromatherapy uses aromatic essential oils medicinally to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. It enhances both physical and emotional health.
Aromatherapy is thought of as both an art and a science. Recently, aromatherapy has gained more recognition in the fields of science and medicine.
It is important NOT to use conventional oils in your hot tub (Some can be quite caustic). If you do you will need to give your hot tub and thorough clean and replace the water, because the oils will just contaminate it. Your local hot tub dealer will be able to supply you with the right type of type of specialist products to assist the overall benefits provided by your hot tub and give you any advice and help you might need.
Any products you add to the water in addition to the normal filtration chemicals etc will tend to shorten the life of your spa water.
Do check with your GP if you have a skin condition before you use a hot tub.
