Should I Leave My Hot Tub On All The Time?

There are a number of really good reasons to keep your hot tub running all time.

It is more economical to keep your hot tub running all the time. If you turn it off, and then have to heat if up when you want to use it, it will cost a lot more to run.

Normally the running temperature is bout 37 degrees. With normal running, during its normal cycle, the temperature may drop 2 or 3 degrees. So, this is the amount that it will need to be raised.

If however, the hot tub is turned off, then when it is required for use again, the temperature may need to be raised by 20 to 30 degrees. It takes a lot more power to raise a temperature by
many degrees proportionally than by just a few degrees. So, it is a lot more efficient to keep the hot tub running all the time.

A hot tub is a very expensive piece of leisure equipment, it also makes sense to keep the tub running all through the year, so you get 365 days of use. With the high level of insulation achieved with full foam insulation (which we recommend) it is not unduly expensive to run the tub during winter, and then you get the full benefit of all the many ways in which a spa can improve your health, reduce stress and help you to relax, throughout the year.

It is so enjoyable to lie in a hot tub of warm water, which keeps your head warm. My & my wife’s favourite time is in the winter on a clear night, with friends and a glass of wine.
